Working Out At The Track - Happy Father's Day!

Introducing:

In lane 3 - Nicholas-Rene Pena...
First time 400 m runner and "rookie of the year". He felt good today and ready to go the minute he set foot on the track commenting: "I am ready to run mom!". (seriously!)

In Lane 4 - "Proud Daddy".....
7x Marathoner (PR 3:08:51)
1x Ironman Finisher (11hrs 40 min)
Weight lost: 40 pounds!
"Proud Daddy" said this was his favorite race ever. He was nervous due to his fierce competition, but he was determined to keep up with his team mates.

In Lane 5 - Joey-Alexander Pena........
Joey was very focused on winning this race and mentioned before he even got to the track, that he was the one that was going to win the race. Not anybody else. He did not disappoint by sprinting off from the starting line like no other. Pretty soon leaving his competitors behind and completing the entire 400 m without having to take a "break". :0) As he approached the finish, he knew he had it and a big smile appeared with a loud: "I won, I won". Yeah!!
*stay tuned for more detailed coverage in our detailed report coming up*

Myself with Zoila Gomez at our house last Wednesday. It was such an honor to have such a wonderful person and athlete spend some time with us. We could not believe she was actually here :0) We enjoyed her company very much. Zoila is truely a remarkable and very interesting young woman who has come so far and struggled so much to be where she is today. My favorite part about her is her spirituality and the stories she was kind enough to share with us. I felt like I had known her for years. She was so extremely easy to talk with. It was great and we are so happy to have had the opportunity to have met her. We feel like we now have a new friend :0 We definitely have so much admiration for her and wish her all the best in her future endeavours. For more on Zoila, read below on our blog. :0)

Today is Father's Day!! Happy Father's Day to everyone!! Jose wanted to go to the track today with the kids and take some photo's. In this first picture they are wearing the In-The-Arena Shirts Zoila gave us. Don't they look great? If you look close, you can see Joey's tongue sticking out. Very concentrated and determined to come in first place. :0) He ran the whole way!! It was the best. Jose was completely in his element and so proud to be running with them :0) How lucky they are to have a dad like him.

Introducing "Team Pena". Ready, Set, Goooooooo!! As you can see, Nico thinks he is a true professional already, holding his little hands on his hips...hahahahaha.... I was cracking up!!

How great they look huh? I'm so proud :0)
