Cesar Padilla & Jimmy Campos, Jose's friends and fellow Triathletes completed the Oceanside Half Ironman 70.3 last week on March 29, 2008. Jose and I were so looking forward to going to this race and cheering them on, but unfortunately we weren't able to make it due to our son, Joey, having been released from the hospital just one day prior to the event. Joey had a bad asthma attack that he had to be hopitalized for. We had to call 911. But he is doing excellent now. Thank goodness. Anyway, we followed Cesar and Jimmy's progress on the computer that day (Ironmanlive.com) and saw that they were doing really well. According to Kari, Jimmy's girlfriend, they were just about 10 seconds apart. I wish I could have been there. Just love the whole atmosphere of this event. Last year I was there with my mom and the kids cheering on Jose. This was Jose's first Triathlon. Oh well, Cesar's total time was 5 hours and 40 minutes and Jimmy was just a few minutes behind him. Excellent job!! Well, at least we will all be going to Arizona in November for the new Ironman there. I can't wait. That will be so much fun!!
