Bags Are Packed - Santa Rosa Here We Come!!!

Well, the time has arrived. After 1.5 years of training, we are only a few days away from Jose participating in his first Ironman Triathlon. I am so excited for him and am nervous at the same time. We leave tomorrow and will be driving up to Santa Rosa, CA, where the race will take place on Saturday, August 4th. We are going to try to drive up there in one day, but if that becomes too much (with the kids and all) then we will spend the night along the way tomorrow and make it there by Wednesday morning.
Just last night I was looking at some pictures of the Half Ironman Jose participated in back in March (Oceanside). Wow, he was so much heavier there. I could really see the big difference in weight. He has done a wonderful job in training and preparing for this race and I believe he will do really well. I am so proud of him and at how far he has come. I mean, come on, the guy didn't even know how to swim!! When I see him swim now, it is amazing. It looks like he has done it all his life. But in reality he has only been a swimmer for just over a year. Incredible. Well, I cannot wait to experience this day. As a spectator and supporter. I am sure it will be pretty hectic, but I am excited. I am ready to cheer everyone on and to have a great time. I can already feel my nerves and butterflies inside my stomache (honestly) and I am sure many tears are still to come. Tears of excitement & anxiety. I probably don't even know what is in store yet, but I am sure I will find out soon :0)
I am going to be taking my laptop computer with me so that I can do a report on the race while I am there. I hope there is internet access. I need to check on it. So, stay tuned for more.
Greetings from all of us here in San Diego!!
