Training on the Bike Continues

Jose has been training on his bike frequently, now passing road trips of 70 miles total. During the Ironman he will have to bike 112 miles and so the training continues. Lately it has been very windy and this has created some problems during the rides, and something new he has been dealing with. But you have to prepare for everything since you don't know what the actual "race day" will bring. But, it has been an enourmous difference from when Jose started biking, which was not too long ago. When I see him leave the house now he just "zooms" off. It seems like he has done it all his life. Such determination. :0) Amazing. We have been watching a lot of Ironman videos that Mr. Mark Ford, a co-worker/mentor of Jose, and 8 time !!! Kona Ironman (yes, I had to note that in here - WOW). The videos are really inspirational and great to watch. We enjoy it. Even our youngest son yesterday picked up the word "Ironman". So cute when he says it. hahahaha...
Every day Jose gets up at 5 - 5:30am and does a run before he goes to work. He is doing a lot of intervals now, which has definitely helped with his speed. In the afternoon he will swim or bike and so currently the training schedule is pretty full. Workouts are adding up to 2 times and sometimes even 3 times a day. He has lost a total of 30 pounds and feels and looks great. We'll keep you posted on other things soon!

Wow Marion you have done a WONDERFUL job with this site! And, to add to that, you are awesome, supporting your husband 100% and involving your family altogether. On another note, can you please make sure he doesn't see the movie JAWS ever again, I need swimming partners and both Jose (JP) and Cesar (CP) won't come out and swim with me =(. Thanks,
Jimmy Campos
